EastRiver Techsheet (1) - Concert


  • For small venues (audience below 100): only vocal microphones required.
  • Chairs should be armless
  • Mic positions are not hard-and-fast: Our players tend to adjust for themselves during sound check.
  • 2nd Bow-string: may be mid-range fiddle/operatic fiddle zhonghu, jinghu, nanhu, etc.), also cello
  • Plucked or Wind: If only 1 plucked instrument, zhongruan/pipa interchanging; otherwise wind: bamboo flutes dizi/xiao
  • 2nd Plucked/Wind: yueqin, liuqin, darun, sanxian; or sona, sheng & other loud winds

EastRiver Techsheet (2) - Musical Theater


  • Stage size minimum: 20' in width, 15' on depth, 12-14' in height
  • Only actors w/ singing, speaking part need mic; acrobats or lion dancers will not.
  • Wireless-mics may be substituted by regular vocal mics on mic stand as shown.
  • Chairs should be armless
  • If musical concert precedes (as in Techsheet 1), players will move to side and place themselves as shown.
  • Musicians will mostly double up as percussionist.
